Candidate Sherri Ybarra comes to us with 17 years experience in education. Ybarra served as a classroom teacher for 11 years and as a school and district administrator for 6 years. While serving as an administrator, she performed the roles of a federal programs director, curriculum director, assistant principal, and principal. Additional honors includes recieving back to back Educator of the Year nominations and multiple grants.

 

Ybarra's educational background consists of a B.A. in Elementary Education, an M.A. in Education Leadership, and an educational specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.

 

Platform: "[Ybarra] intends to focus on three areas that will improve education for Idaho’s children for generations to come: Giving our children 21st century abilities, not over-testing them and increasing safety and support."
